That is the best way to initially describe this great work that is Defining Moments. From the start, the cover captures you with just a taste of what you’ll experience during the reading.

First, let’s talk about Ensa and the way she so eloquently captures the relationship spectrum, self-image, sex, and being a black woman. When this first dropped onto my kindle, my intent was to read just one or two and come back. Yea...no, I was captured immediately.

I’ve read great poetry that has made me say “Wow, that was good.” But rarely do I read something that makes me feel like the poet reached into my soul and pulled out the words that I would never be able to say. This is that. So many times, I was like....“Oh my gosh yes! Wait...does she know me?” From beginning to end, every poem is relatable, sometimes triggering, and always sparking profound reflection.”
